Working in the mosaic medium allows me the indulgence to mess around with rich colours, textures and forms.

Some tile looks and feels like hard candy.

Other tile is rough and uneven.

Both tend to like to puncture my fingers as I cut them!

I like the mess of mosaics; getting the mortar smeared about and hefting large tiles and fingering richly reflective glass shards.

It is very sensual and physical. My mind likes figuring out the patterns of form and the rhythm of the tiles as they describe the shape and energy of the image.
